Instead, it generates electricity from methanol, a liquid alcohol. Today, more and more methanol is being generated from second-generation organic waste or even household refuse. One advantage of methanol is that it possesses an extremely high energy density. A fuel cell can extract 11.1 kilowatts from 10 liters of methanol weighing only 8.4 kg. That’s as much electricity as from 300 kg worth of lead batteries! That’s the reason why something that weighs so little can pack so much power.

Installation of the EFOY Prof fuel cell requires only minimal adjustments to the car’s electrical system, which means that any car on the market can be equipped or retrofitted.
Depending on the car’s size and its power requirements, two or more EFOY Pro fuel cells may see duty. This makes it possible to adapt output precisely to each individual car’s needs. If the car’s voltage range exceeds that of the EFOY Pro fuel cell, external transformers can be interposed.
